Seeing the results side by side is the most useful part of this. For image-to-video specifically, I've noticed Hailuo 02 and Hailuo 2.3 handle the same start frame quite differently, so I always run one test frame through both before picking. I compare them on Hailuo3, an independent studio that lists several models together.

The sustainability point is important, especially as generative AI becomes part of more creative workflows. Offering useful preset backgrounds while making AI-generated watercolor backgrounds optional feels like a practical balance. I also enjoyed exploring Love Letter as a small example of using AI in a personal creative experience without making it the whole point.

Showing the unsuccessful attempts / bad prompts is a great idea, thank you!

If your AI image tool can utilize a big AI image model like Nano Banana or GPT-Images, then you can edit a part of the image and the other parts stays untouched. You can do this simply with a prompt, I think. One example in my older article:

Your plan for a prompting guide sounds especially useful if it shows the attempts that did not work alongside the final image. I work on PhotoGenerAI, an AI image tool, and I would be interested in a guide organized around concrete tasks such as preserving a subject while changing the background. A small set of repeatable examples would also give readers a way to compare your future Leonardo, Gemini, and Flextreme articles over time. Congratulations on keeping an independent project going for two years.

Great comparison! I've been testing different generative AI tools myself, and for anyone into 3D creation, AI STL Generator (https://aistlgenerator.com/) is a nice free tool that turns text prompts and images into 3D printable STL files. Thanks for sharing these results!

The emphasis on sustainability is crucial, especially as AI's power consumption grows. I wonder if lighter models and efficient architectures will be enough to offset the increasing demand for generative AI across all media. Could we be seeing a trade-off between capability and environmental cost?
